Thank You- Another CAS Card

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a quick card and decided to use the inspiration from Pals Paper Arts PPA95 CAS- Elements of Style- Brads along with the Splitcoast Stampers CAS117 Sandy and Baby Blue Chocolates Challenge (remember CAS means Clean and Simple) :-)

The Design Team samples and entries at Pals PaperArts are truly inspirational as well as the Splitcoast CAS117 gallery.

To create this card:

Using a brayer with Early Espresso ink apply ink to the flat side of the Vintage Wallpaper EF.  Insert a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock into the folder and emboss with the Big Shot.

Use the Big Shot with the Top Note Die to cut a piece of Whisper White and Early Espresso (trim the Whisper White layer along the perforated edge.
Mask the lower third of the Whisper White Top Note layer.  Stamp the floral image from the Hostess Level II set, Fast and Fabulous, with Early Espresso ink and color the flowers with a Baja Breeze SU! Marker.  Cut a mask from a sticky note to mask the flowers and stamp the En Francais background stamp in Early Espresso over the image.

Remove the mask and stamp the Medallion background stamp with Crumb Cake ink over the images.  Stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso and mount the Top Note layer onto the Early Espresso layer.  Adhere the entire focal image onto the card front and lightly spray with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint spray (mixed with 70% alcohol).

Use 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon to create a double bow and anchor the center with an Antique Brad.  Attach to the card front with a Pop-Up Glue Dot.

Stamp Sets:  Fast and Fabulous, Medallion, En Francais, Short and Sweet
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze SU! Marker
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Accessories:  Big Shot, Top Note Die, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Brayer, 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon, Antique Brad, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint Spray

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a terrific week!

Clean and Simple Cards- One Color Challenge!

Hi Stampers!

I decided to create a few Clean and Simple cards using the CCMC152 colors from this Create with Connie and Mary (see http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com) and one of the cards utilizes the CAS120 Clean and Simple sketch from Splitcoast Stampers (see the CAS120 gallery here).  The Design Team samples are fabulous as always and the other submissions provide so much inspiration- I just love their weekly challenges!

To complete the doily card:

Using the new Doily Triple Layer Punch from the Summer Mini (this punch has three different punch images and I decided to use position #3 for the complete doily) punch out two doilies from each of the challenge cardstock colors - Peach Parfait, Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red and glued them onto Basic Black cardstock.

Emboss with the Big Shot and the Square Lattice EF.  Mount onto Whisper White and using the Scallop Trim Border Punch along the lower edge.  Mount panel onto Basic Black and Baja Breeze.

Stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Black and punch out with the Word Window Punch.  Add pearls to finish off the card.

To create the second card:

Use the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper EF to emboss a piece of Baja Breeze.  Emboss a piece of Peach Parfait DSP (Hostess Level I) and lightly sand with the Sandpaper Block to expose the white core.  Mount the DSP and a strip (from scraps) of Riding Hood Red cardstock.

Use the Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red SU! markers to color the sentiment from Hodgepodge Happiness on Whisper White cardstock and punch out with the Designer Label Large Punch.   Using Mini Glue Dots adhere the punched sentiment into the Styled Silver Hardware and use the Brads from the hardware set to attach the sentiment to the card front.

Create the rolled flowers with the 1 ¾” Scallop Circle punch and the Crimping Tool (punch out with the Scallop Punch, cut into a spiral, crimp through the Crimper, roll up and glue).
Attach to the card with mini glue dots.  Mount the entire panel onto Riding Hood Red and
Whisper White. Lightly spray with Frost White Shimmer Paint.

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Hodgepodge Happiness
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Peach Parfait and Riding Hood Red
Ink: Basic Black, SU! Markers- Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Big Shot, Embossing Folders- Vintage Wallpaper, Square Lattice, Finial Press,
Punches- Doily Triple Layer, Word Window, Scallop Trim Border, Pearls,
Frost White Shimmer Paint

This color challenge was quite "challenging" for me:-)  I tend to favor the second card a bit more than the first, since the doily card is a bit more contemporary than my normal style (I was trying to go for a modified quilt card).  If you have time, let me know which one do you like the best:-)

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you have a blessed Memorial Day!  We are so thankful for those who are currently serving our country in the military and our public servants that risk their lives every day to keep our country free and safe!  May we never forget those who have given their lives for our freedom.

Wish Big- A Sketch and Color Challenge!

Hi Stampers!

I created this card using the colors from this week’s CQC86 ColourQ Challenge (see http://colourq.blogspot.com) and the SFF052711 sketch from Sketch Friday Frenzy (see http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com).  The colors just seemed to reflect summer so I decided to use a retired SU! set, Sunflower Serenade.

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot to emboss a piece of Real Red DSP with the Square Lattice EF and lightly sand with the Sanding Block to expose the white core.  Mount onto an Early Espresso card front.

De-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Embossing Buddy and repeatedly ink the sunflower stamp first with Versamark, then with Early Espresso.  Apply Clear EP and heat emboss. Color the petals with Daffodil Delight and So Saffron, the center with Early Espresso.  Trim the flowers close to the embossing and cut in half.

Arrange four halves along a piece of Real Red (embossed with the Square Lattice EF) and mount this layer onto an embossed layer of So Saffron.  Attach an 5/8” Early Espresso Ribbon along the top edge of the So Saffron layer.

Use the Big Shot to cut a piece of Early Espresso with the Top Note die and emboss with the Square Lattice EF.  Also emboss another piece of So Saffron and Real Red, punch two circles with the 2 1/2” XL Circle Punch.

Stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso onto Whisper White and punch out with the Word Window Punch.  Mount onto a layer of So Saffron punched with the Modern Label Punch.

Mount the sentiment layer in the center of the Real Red circle and attach two halves of one of the sunflower images above and below the sentiment.  Adhere to the So Saffron circle (cut in half to allow a layer effect) and adhere a Decorative XL Label from So Saffron (also embossed and cut in half) on the sides of the circle.  Mount entire circle onto the Top Note layer.  Add the pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:   Sunflower Serenade, Short & Sweet
Ink:  Versamark, Early Espresso
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Early Espresso, Real Red, So Saffron
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Sanding Block, Embossing Buddy, Heat Gun, Clear EP, Punches- Word Window, Modern Label, Decorative Label XL, 2 1/2” XL Circle, Pearls, 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a blessed Sunday!

Everyday Miracle- Two Challenges!

Hi Stampers!
I love the PP48 sketch from The Paper Players (http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com) and decided to use the CC324 colors from the Splitcoast Stampers (see the gallery here).

Again, weekly challenges keep me motivated and this week’s Design Team samples at The Paper Players is a perfect example of how many different interpretations can be created by different stampers.  All of their designs are terrific- if you have time, stop by their site and check out all of the ideas!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of Whisper White with the Embossing Buddy. Ink the Medallion background stamp first with Versamark ink, then ink with Baja Breeze.  Using a Sponge Dauber, randomly apply Perfect Plum over the Baja Breeze.   Apply Clear EP and heat emboss with the Heat Gun.

Use a Sponge Dauber with Soft Suede ink and rub gently over the embossed areas and fill in the rest of the Whisper White portion of the card.  With another Sponge Dauber, apply Early Espresso ink over the detailed areas of the Medallion in the center.  Gently rub off the ink from the embossed areas with a dampened paper towel.

Trim around the center circle of the Medallion and once the circle is removed, apply a piece of Baja Breeze DSP (previously embossed with the Square Lattice EF and lightly sanded).   Use the Big Shot and emboss the entire panel with the Framed Tulips EF and lightly sponge Early Espresso over the embossing to highlight the tulips.  Attach the crochet trim along the edges of the Baja Breeze DSP layer.

De-static a piece of Baja Breeze cardstock and ink the butterfly image first with Versamark and then Soft Suede.  Heat emboss with Clear EP, trim close to the edge and set aside.

Stamp another piece of Baja Breeze with the butterfly image and punch out with the 1 ¾” circle punch.   Emboss this piece with the Square Lattice EF, mount the embossed butterfly (lining up the antennae) and attach the pearls.

Punch a piece of Soft Suede (previously embossed with the Square Lattice EF) with the 2 3/8” Scallop Punch and cut in half.  Layer behind the circle piece from the Medallion and mount onto the card front using Dimensionals and add the pearl to the center.

Mount the butterfly with Dimensionals in the lower left corner of the circle (covering up the gap in the Scallop layer).

Stamp the sentiment with Perfect Plum ink onto Whisper White and punch out using the Medium Oval Punch.  Lightly sponge Soft Suede over the Whisper White to tone down the white and “huff” on the center of the Medallion stamp and press the oval over the center area (to give a faint impression of the Medallion image).  Mount onto the card front using Dimensionals.

Mount the card front onto a layer of Baja Breeze and Soft Suede to finish off the card. Lightly spray with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (mixed with alcohol).

Stamp Sets:  Medallion, Strength and Hope, Peace Within
Ink: Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Perfect Plum, Soft Suede, Versamark
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Framed Tulips EF, Embossing Buddy, Heat Gun, Clear EP, Sponge Daubers, Punches: 1 3/4” Circle, 2 3/8” Scallop Circle and Medium Oval, Victoria Crochet Trim, Pearls, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint Spray

Thanks again for stopping- I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Service and Sacrifice

Hi Stampers!
Have I mentioned how much I love the weekly challenge blogs?  They provide so many new ideas and inspiration and they motivate me not only to stamp, but to stamp “outside” the box :-)

It was late this evening when we returned from our nephew’s Awana award ceremony and I wanted to create a quick card utilizing the fantastic SSC204 sketch at Stamping 411 (see http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com ) and decided to combine the sketch with this week’s  Memorial Day HSSCSC68  Challenge (see http://handstampedsentiments.blogspot.com).
The Design Teams at both sites have created some amazing examples and the other entries are just as wonderful- if you have a moment, stop by and leave them some stamping "love"!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot with the Square Lattice EF (one of my absolute favorite embossing folders) and emboss a piece of Whisper White.

Stamp the large image from Courage (I love this set!) with Night of Navy onto Whisper White and mount onto Night of Navy. Adhere a few scraps of Cherry Cobbler (for the offset piece behind the focal image) and mount the focal image.

Using the large star punch, punch out a few stars from Cherry Cobbler.  Stamp the small star from Service and Sacrifice on Whisper White and punch out with the small Star Punch (the punch is retired, but you could use the Star Original Die).

Stamp the sentiment with Night of Navy, punch out with the Decorative XL Label Punch and mount onto a Cherry Cobbler layer.  Adhere a Whisper White scrap over the Night of Navy band, attach the sentiment and stars to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Courage, Service and Sacrifice
Ink:  Night of Navy
Cardstock: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Decorative XL Label Punch, Large Star Punch, Small Star Punch (retired SU!)

I personally feel that we can never thank our armed services and their families enough for their service and sacrifice that they make each and every day for us!  May the Lord richly bless them and protect them as they serve our country.  May we never forget nor take for granted the cost of our freedom.

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a safe and blessed Memorial Day week!

CCMC151 Thank You

Hi Stampers!

I created this card for this week’s
Create with Connie and Mary #CCMC151
Sketch challenge (see www.createwithconnieandmary.com).

The Design Team samples are fabulous as always and the other submissions provide so much inspiration- I love their weekly challenges!

To create this card:

Use the Embossing Buddy to de-static a piece of Whisper White.  Stamp the anchor, compass, globe and ship image from the new set, The Open Sea with Versamark ink and heat emboss with Clear EP.

Use Sponge Daubers with Soft Suede and Early Espresso Ink to fill in the images and with wipe with a damp paper towel to reveal the embossing.

Hand trim around the globe and anchor image and use circle punches to punch out the ship and compass images along with corresponding layers from Early Espresso cardstock.
Use the Big Shot with the Square Lattice EF to emboss a piece of the Nautical Expedition DSP and lightly sand with the Sanding Block to distress the paper.

Tie a few knots in the Natural Hemp Twine and layer the pieces onto a piece of Whisper White (sponge the edges with Soft Suede to “antique”).

Attach the anchor and sentiment (also embossed and sponged) with Vintage Trinkets and mount the entire card front onto Early Espresso cardstock.

Stamp Sets: The Open Sea, Short and Sweet
Ink:  Versamark, Soft Suede and Early Espresso
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Early Espresso, Nautical Expedition DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Decorative XL Label Punch, 2 ½” XL Circle Punch, 1 ¼” and 1 3/8” Circle Punches, Sponge Daubers, Embossing Buddy, Heat Gun, Clear EP, Natural Hemp Twine, Vintage Trinkets

CQC85 Heartfelt Thanks

Hi Stampers!

Wow, another week has passed by already!  I wanted to create a card for this week’s CQC85 ColourQ Challenge (see http://colourq.blogspot.com).   The  inspiration photo  would have been “purr-fect” for the retired set Cool Cat from SU! but I decided to use the new set Strength and Hope.   I may still create the Cool Cat card at a later date…:-)

To create this card:
Using Chocolate Chip ink, stamp the background stamp En Francais onto a piece of Sahara Sand and Peach Parfait DSP.  Ink the smooth side of the Finial Press EF with Chocolate Chip ink and emboss both pieces.

Mount these layers onto Whisper White, Basic Gray and Chocolate Chip.

Color the scroll image from Strength and Hope with a Basic Gray and Peach Parfait SU! Marker and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  Stamp the butterfly image in Basic Gray over the scroll images and stamp the butterfly again in Basic Gray onto Peach Parfait cardstock.  Cut out the butterfly from the Peach Parfait and adhere on top of the Basic Gray butterfly (to allow the antennae to show from the lower image).  Distress the edges with the Distressing Tool and adhere to a Chocolate Chip layer.

I used scraps of Chocolate Chip and Basic Gray that were previously embossed with the Square Lattice EF.  The Basic Gray piece was punched using the Decorative Label XL Punch and cut in half.

Stamp the sentiment on Whisper White using the Peach Parfait and Basic Gray markers and punch out with the Designer Label Large Punch.  Layer onto Peach Parfait and Chocolate Chip (also punched with the Designer Label Large Punch and cut in half to layer behind the sentiment).

Finish off with pearls and spray with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (mixed with 70% alcohol).

Stamp Sets:   Strength and Hope, Hodgepodge Happiness, En Francais
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Basic Gray, SU! Markers- Basic Gray and Peach Parfait
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Gray, Chocolate Chip, Peach Parfait, Sahara Sand DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice and Finial Press EF, Brayer, Decorative Label XL Punch, Designer Label Large Punch, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, Distressing Tool, Pearls
Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a wonderful Sunday!

CCMC150 Get Well Wishes

Hi Stampers!

I created this card using the colors from this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Color #CCMC150 challenge(see http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com).   If you have a chance, stop by their blog and check out the great Design Team samples and other entries.

These colors seemed a bit masculine, but I wanted to try out the new Flower Garden EF so I decided to create a floral card.

To create this card:

Brayer Poppy Parade on the smooth side of the Flower Garden EF and emboss with the Big Shot using Whisper White cardstock.   Trim and mount onto Not Quite Navy (NQN) cardstock.

Stamp the large floral image with NQN Classic Ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock.  Mask the flowers to stamp the overlapping images.

Layer the background and use a few scraps from Poppy Parade and NQN.   Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White and punch out with the short end of the Decorative Label XL Punch and rotate and punch again to create the small tag.  Complete the same process with Poppy Parade, cut in half and layer behind the sentiment.  Add the satin bow to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Fabulous Florets, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Not Quite Navy (NQN), Poppy Parade
Cardstock:  NQN, Poppy Parade, Sahara Sand and Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Flower Garden EF, Square Lattice EF, Decorative Label XL Punch, 5/8” White Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for stopping by- have a blessed week!

CQC84 Mother's Day

Hi Stampers!
Last week we did were not able to join my sister-in-law for Mother’s Day and I decided to create a new card for tomorrow’s celebration (well, looking at the time- today’s celebration).  Since she loves yellow, I decided to use this week’s CQC84 colors from the ColourQ Challenge (see http://colourq.blogspot.com).

To create this card:

Stamp the floral spray from Watercolor Trio (retired) with Old Olive (first stamp off on a piece of scrap paper) onto Whisper White.  Color the floral image with SU! markers in Not Quite Navy (NQN), Old Olive and Daffodil Delight.  Use the Color Spritzer Tool with the NQN marker to spritz the image and round the corners with the Corner Rounder Punch.  Sponge the edges with Crumb Cake and lightly in the center to antique and tone down the white.
Punch a piece of Daffodil Delight and NQN with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. Layer with additional pieces of Daffodil Delight and NQN (embossed with the Finial Press EF).  Layer onto the stamped image and add pearl strands.
Use the Big Shot to emboss a piece of Crumb Cake with the Finial Press EF (on the edges only leaving a flat area in the center).  Use a Sponge Dauber to lightly apply NQN over the embossed panel and attach scraps of Daffodil Delight and NQN (embossed with the Square Lattice EF) and Whisper White punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  Stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punch the sentiment using the Word Window Punch.
Layer all onto Whisper White and again onto Old Olive.
Stamp Sets:   Watercolor Trio, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  NQN, Old Olive, SU! Markers- Old Olive, NQN and Daffodil Delight
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, NQN, Crumb Cake
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice and Finial Press EF, Word Window Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Sponge Daubers, Pearls, Color Spritzer Tool
Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a blessed Sunday!
