ODBDSLC256 Thank You

Hello Friends!

Today starts off the brand new ODBDSLC256 Shining the Light “Ink Up or Emboss Your Own Background” Challenge and although it may seem difficult to not incorporate designer paper in your project but I love using stamps to create my own “designer” paper!

I am also incorporating the Splitcoaststampers' Ways To Use It WT540 "Going on a Picnic" Challenge :-)

To create this card:

Stamp the background stamp, Chalkboard Vine Background using taupe ink onto the taupe cardstock, trim and mount onto white cardstock, trim once more and stamp onto the dark brown card base.

  ODBD Stamps- Thank You, Chalkboard Vine Background ;
ODBD Dies- Layered Lacey Square Dies , Stitched Ovals Dies, Oval Dies
Stamp the Thank You picnic basket image using a waterproof black ink onto white cardstock and color using water based markers with a water brush.

Cut the picnic basket image out using the Stitched Ovals Dies and mount onto an oval cut with the Ovals Dies from dark brown cardstock.

Add the 5/8” Dark Chocolate Satin Ribbon and triple ribbon bow to an embossed kraft layer and mount onto the square from the Layered Lacey Square Dies.

Stamp the verse from Thank You using a waterproof ink onto white cardstock, cut using the Stitched Ovals Dies, mount onto an oval cut with the Ovals Dies from dark brown cardstock.

Mount the layers using foam dimensionals and add a few pearls to finish off the card.

I love designing alongside the talented ODBD Design Team and hope you will check out my DT sisters:

SUO132 Floral Birthday- Five Stamp Sets, Eight Punches

Hello Friends!

It’s time for the new SUO132 “Punch It Up” Challenge to create a card using one or more punches.

I decided to pull out all of the punches (lol!) and used multiple punches along with their coordinating stamp sets.

I also am incorporating the Splitcoaststampers’ CC542 Color Challenge (Elegant Eggplant, Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon and Mossy Meadow) as  well as the TLC552 “Floral Frenzy” Challenge.

I hope you will have a chance to check out my sister Design Team member samples and create your own Stampin’ Up! Only project for our gallery.

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Elegant Eggplant card base.

Stamp the images from Flower Shop, Petite Petals , Papillon Potpourri and Teeny Tiny Wishes onto Whisper White cardstock using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink.

Use an AquaPainter™ with ink from Stampin’ Write Markers to color the images- Delightful Dijon for the butterflies, Cajun Craze for the Flower Shop flowers and Elegant Eggplant for the Petite Petals.

Punch the butterflies out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch, the Flower Shop flowers out with the Pansy Punch and the Petite Petals out with the Petite Petal Punch.
Punch the sentiment out with the Word Window Punch and use the Hexagon Punch to create the banner.

Use the Word Window Punch to punch out two additional pieces- one from Cajun Craze cardstock and the other from Elegant Eggplant cardstock (creating banner points in each with the Hexagon Punch) and layer behind the sentiment.

Create a 2” tag from Whisper White cardstock using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and stamp the Gorgeous Grunge element with Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink.

Use the Banner Triple Punch to create the banner at the bottom of the tag and add a layer of Cajun Craze and Elegant Eggplant to complete the tag.

Mount the tag onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Use the Bird Builder Punch to create the Mossy Meadow petals and layer behind the flowers.

Add the sentiment, flowers and butterflies to the card front.

Adhere a few Pearls to the sentiment and the butterflies to finish off the card.

TCC40- Thinking of You

Hi Friends!!

It is time for the new Card Concept #40 “Forest Friends” Challenge- I just love our cute inspiration photo!!  This Mixed Media card was designed using several techniques along with the Splitcoaststampers’ Mix-Ability MIX136 “White Wash” Challenge.

The Card Concept is a bi-weekly challenge that has an inspiration photo along with a number of design styles that you can choose from to create your card- Clean and Simple, Clean and Graphic, Clean and Layered, Shabby Chic, Freestyle Collage, Classy and Elegant and Mixed Media.

Please stop by our TCC40 Forest Friends Challenge to check out the rest of the talented Design Team projects and we hope that you can find some time to gather your supplies together and come join in on the fun!!

To create this card:

Apply Gesso® to a piece of Whisper White cardstock and allow to dry (it dries fairly quickly but you can use the Heat Tool to speed up the drying process).

Add a few drops of Soft White Acrylic Paint to a Gelli® Arts Printing Plate, brayer over the plate and add a drop of Soft Black Acrylic Paint (using a brayer to gently blend with the white paint).

Lay the Memory Box® Heartland Stencil onto the Gelli® Arts Printing Plate, place the prepared Whisper White cardstock over the stencil, press the paper into the paint and lift.

Remove the stencil, spritz a bit of water over the plate, place another piece of cardstock over the Gelli® Arts Printing Plate to create a “ghost” print - save this print for a later project.

Trim the background print and mount onto a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Basic Gray card base.

Stamp the fox image from The Wilderness Awaits stamp set using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, color the fox using Stampin’ Write Markers- Cajun Craze, Sahara Sand; Mossy Meadow for the grass and Pool Party for the sky.

Use the Big Shot™ using the My Favorite Things™ Stitched Rectangle STAX dies to cut out the image and mount onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock.

De-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Embossing Buddy®.  Ink the leaves from the retired French Foliage stamp set using Versamark™ ink onto Whisper White cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Silver Embossing Powder, heat with the Heat Tool and adhere the leaves to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner using the Banner Punch and mount the sentiment to the focal image.

Add a copper clip to the corner of the fox image panel and mount the panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  The Wilderness Awaits, Teeny Tiny Wishes, French Foliage (retired)

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Versamark™, Stampin’ Write Markers- Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, Pool Party; Acrylic Paint- Soft Black, Soft White

ODBDSLC255 In Oceans Deep, My Faith Will Stand

Hello Friends!

Woohoo!!   Today starts off the brand new ODBDSLC255 Shining the Light Photo Inspiration Challenge and I just love all of the gorgeous animals and sea life in this inspirational photo collage!!

I chose the top middle photo for inspiration and used the new stamp set, Deep Waters to create two cards (I was on a roll and could not stop) :-) !!

In both versions, the Deep Waters sea image was stamped with a waterproof ink onto white cardstock and colored using water based markers with a water brush (using a different color palette for each :-)).

Details to finish off the watercolored scene include sparkle shimmer paint for the sand, frost shimmer paint for the shells as well as a white gel pen for some highlights (although it is a bit difficult to see the shimmer in the photos).

ODBD Stamp Sets- Deep Waters, Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies

To finish the first card, cut and emboss the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies from white cardstock and mount onto a piece of background paper from the new Beautiful Boho Paper Collection, trim and mount onto the dark purple cardstock, trim again and mount onto the green cardstock.

Using the interior die from the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies, outline around the stamped image lightly with a pencil and fussy cut the focal image, adhere to the white Vintage Flourish Patterns background die cut created in the above steps, add the purple satin ribbon strip along with the triple ribbon bow and mount the entire panel to your card base.

Stamp the Deep Waters sentiment onto white cardstock and cut out with the smallest label die from Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

ODBD Deep Waters Stamp Set, ODBD Vintage Flouish Patterns DiesODBD Spellbinders Labels 18 Die
To create the second card, cut the focal Deep Waters image out with the Spellbinders Labels 18 die (also cutting a piece of rose red cardstock from the same size die), split the rose red die cut piece in half and mount behind the focal image, cut and emboss the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies background from white cardstock, mount the background onto the sky blue cardstock, trim and mount onto rose red cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base.

Stamp the Deep Waters sentiment onto white cardstock and cut with the smaller Spellbinders Labels 18 die (again cutting another piece the same size from rose red cardstock, splitting the rose red die cut in half and adhering behind the sentiment) and mount the sentiment with dimensional foam.

Add the rose red seam binding bow to finish off the card.

I absolutely love designing alongside the talented ODBD Design Team and hope you will check out my DT sisters:

Use an AquaPainter™ to apply Soft Sky to the background, cut out the image using the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things™ Stitched Rectangle STAX Dies and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, trim and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch, mount onto Basic Black cardstock and create the points with the Hexagon Punch as well.

MFT Nuts About You- A Fun Card for Several Challenges

Hi Friends!

I recently purchased a few sets from My Favorite Things™ (MFT) and had not had a chance to play around with them until today :-)

I decided to play around with a MFT stencil along with the acorns from the MFT Cute Critters set to create a "Just for Fun" card - this set is so cute and MFT even has a coordinating die set to match :-)!

Again, if you have not already had a chance to visit the above sites, I encourage you to do so- great samples from the Design Teams as well as their galleries!

Stamp Sets:  Cute Critters (MFT)

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Soft Suede; Stampin’ Write Markers- Cajun Craze, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Zig® Clean Color Markers- 060, 022

Paper:  Whisper White, Cajun Craze, So Saffron, Soft Suede

Accessories:  Big Shot™, MFT Dies- Cute Critters, Stitched Horizontal Strips, Blueprints 13, Blueprints 18; MFT Stencil- On The Diagonal, Sponge Daubers, Natural Linen Thread; Crystal Effects™

OK- Version #2...For some reason, I was not thrilled with the first card so I added a bit more Pumpkin Pie on the vertical "tage" element and in doing so, accidentally sponged a bit on the white die area around the acorns  (so I removed them and "fussy-cut" the images ) :-)

Version #2- I was not happy with the 1st one so added a bit more color :-)
My normal style is a more shabby, chic/ vintage and I do struggle with the CAS or cleaner styles- but keep trying!!

So which one do you prefer?

Version #1 or Version #2?

The shabby chic designer in me likes Version #2 better (and that is a good thing since I cannot remove the sponging now- lol!)....

Thanks again for dropping by! I hope you have a fantastic Friday, hugs to you, my friends!
